About

Safdari Saffron

My name is Sediqa Safdari

I was born and raised in Herat, Afghanistan—a place known as the heart of the world’s finest saffron. From a young age, I worked on the saffron harvests, waking early to pick the delicate purple flowers by hand. I learned how to recognise the richest red threads and understood the care that went into every strand.

When I moved to the UK, I carried those memories with me. And I realised something powerful: saffron could be more than a spice. It could be a way forward.

Safdari Saffron was born from that idea—a bridge between two worlds. We bring exceptional saffron from Herat to kitchens across the UK and beyond. But more than that, we provide fair, reliable work for women back home—the same women I once worked beside in the fields.

Our saffron is ISO 3632 certified, tested for quality, purity, and strength.

This isn’t just a business. It’s a story of hope, resilience, and pride—woven into every strand of saffron we share.
